Vaiśampāyana said: Then King Duryodhana and his brothers slowly began to win people over to their side by bestowing honour and riches on them.
वैशम्पायन ने कहा: तब राजा दुर्योधन और उसके भाइयों ने धीरे-धीरे लोगों को सम्मान और धन देकर उन्हें अपने पक्ष में करना शुरू कर दिया।
One day, on Dhṛtarāṣṭra's instructions, some skilled ministers began to describe the beautiful city of Vāraṇāvata.
एक दिन, धृतराष्ट्र के निर्देश पर, कुछ कुशल मंत्रियों ने वारणावत के सुंदर शहर का वर्णन करना शुरू किया।
They said "Paśupati's festival will be held in the beautiful city of Vāraṇāvata. A large number of people have assembled there.

That marvellous place will be adorned with all the gems. "On Dhṛtarāṣṭra's bidding, these were the words they uttered.
वह अद्भुत स्थान समस्त रत्नों से सुशोभित होगा। "धृतराष्ट्र के आदेश पर, उन्होंने ये शब्द कहे।
O king! When they heard these stories about the beautiful city of Vāraṇāvata, Pāṇḍu's sons wished to go there.
हे राजा! जब उन्होंने सुंदर शहर वारणावत के बारे में ये कहानियाँ सुनीं, तो पांडु के पुत्रों ने वहाँ जाने की इच्छा की।
When the king realized that the Pāṇḍava-s were curious, Ambikā's son told the Pāṇḍava-s,

"My men always and repeatedly describe to me the city of Vāraṇāvata, the most charming in the world.

ते तात यदि मन्यध्वमुत्सवं वारणावते सगणाः सानुयात्राश्च विहरध्वं यथामराः
O sons! If you wish to witness the festival in the city of Vāraṇāvata, go there with your attendants and soldiers and enjoy yourselves like the gods.
हे पुत्रो! यदि आप वारणावत शहर में उत्सव देखना चाहते हैं, तो अपने सेवकों और सैनिकों के साथ वहां जाएं और देवताओं की तरह आनंद लें।
Give jewels to all the Brāhmana-s and the singers. Enjoy yourselves like radiant gods who possess all they desire.
सभी ब्राह्मणों और गायकों को आभूषण दो। अपने आप को तेजस्वी देवताओं की तरह आनंदित करें जिनके पास वह सब कुछ है जो वे चाहते हैं।
Spend as muc time as you want there and when you have enjoyed yourselves completely, happily return to Hāstinapura."
वहां जितना चाहो उतना समय बिताओ और जब पूरा आनंद ले लो तो खुशी-खुशी हस्तिनापुर लौट आओ।''
Realizing that this was Dhṛtarāṣṭra's own wish and he himself had no allies, Yudhiṣṭhira agreed.
यह महसूस करते हुए कि यह धृतराष्ट्र की अपनी इच्छा थी और उनका स्वयं कोई सहयोगी नहीं था, युधिष्ठिर सहमत हो गए।

कृपमाचार्यपुत्रं च गान्धारीं च यशस्विनीम् युधिष्ठिरः शनैर्दीनमुवाचेदं वचस्तदा
Kṛpa, the preceptor's son and the illustrious Gāndhārī, Yudhiṣṭhira said, softly and meekly,
गुरु के पुत्र कृप और यशस्वी गांधारी, युधिष्ठिर ने धीरे और नम्रता से कहा,
"On Dhṛtarāṣṭra's command, we are going with our friends to the lovely and populated city of Vāraṇāvata.
"धृतराष्ट्र के आदेश पर, हम अपने दोस्तों के साथ सुंदर और आबादी वाले शहर वारणावत जा रहे हैं।
Bless us with happy hearts, so that those sacred blessings ensure our prosperity and protect us from sin."

Having heard these words of Pāṇḍu's son, all the Kaurava-s blessed the Pāṇḍava-s with happy hearts.
पाण्डुपुत्र के ये वचन सुनकर सभी कौरवों ने प्रसन्न मन से पांडवों को आशीर्वाद दिया।

स्वस्त्यस्तु वः पथि सदा भूतेभ्यश्चैव सर्वशः मा च वोऽस्त्वशुभं किंचित्सर्वतः पाण्डुनन्दनाः
"O sons of Pāṇḍu! Let all the beings along your journey bring you fortune. Let not the slightest touch of evil touch you."
"हे पाण्डु पुत्रों! आपकी यात्रा में सभी प्राणी आपके लिए सौभाग्य लेकर आएं। बुराई का जरा सा भी स्पर्श आपको न छूने पाए।"
Then, after having received blessings and after having performed all the rites for obtaining the kingdom, the Pāṇḍava-s left for Vāraṇāvata.
फिर, आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करने और राज्य प्राप्त करने के लिए सभी अनुष्ठान करने के बाद, पांडव वारणावत के लिए रवाना हुए।
